Greetings John, It was good to talk with you the other day. I forgot to speak with you about doing an interview for the Wisdombridge newsletter. I would appreciate being able to discuss with you the ways in which our intimate connection with nature helps to heal the fragmentation we are conditioned to accept as normal. Let me know if that is something you have time for. After talking with you and hearing how full and rich life is for you, I would understand any delay in saying yes. I respect and hold with gratitude the healing you are bringing to many. Blessings, Francis

He' Nutongquasinoag! How goes it? Tomorrow i teach a class at Tufts U. in Boston and am using your information from your website as an example of respectful relationships between Native People and non-Natives. I have been asked to speak on New Age stuff and so forth. Your site is beautiful and you hopefully may get some new participants from Tufts. Seeing as we have had 56 people laid off in 2001 from this museum, we now are all doing 2 1/2 people's work. It is somewhat nuts! Hope you and yours are well and healthy! Jade's picture is amazing! how did she grow up so fast? Oh well, I know this occurs as my grandson is now going on 5. Hard to believe! Wunniish Netompoag! Wuskowan

Sekon, This is kind of weird, I was surfing around the web and came across your site. I was pleasantly suprised to see John Stokes associated with your organization. I was very young when I met John, but he made a strong impressionon me and a couple of my friends. My family is very traditional and are followers of the Great Law of Peace. In 1979 my father was involved in events that unfolded on Racquette Point in Akwesasne which would bring traditionalist Longhouse People to the forefront of many issues in Akwesasne. My father is Loran Thompson. I met John among a myriad of people from all over the world, including Indians from many different nations across North America, many Europeans and even a couple of Buddhist Monks (who also made a strong impression). I don't know if he remembers me, or any of my friends that he taught, but it is among some of the most prominant positive memories from that era for me. Its funny, last week I came across a picture of me and my cousin hoisting a couple of didjaredoos over our heads trying to coax some sound out of 'em! Funny stuff! John, introduced me to my first didjaredoo, gave me and my friends some boomarings and taught how to throw them, and also taught us how to kindle a fire with bow, some wood and a tinder bundle. I think he had a dog named Maggie, that we all liked very much as well. I don't get to touch base with very many people who supported us during the Encampment, especially those who I thought were just genuinely cool people, but this presents me with an opportunity to just say hey to John, let him know that I appreciate his dropping in and supporting us during the Encampment, thank him for teaching us the basics of tracking and outdoor survival and that I'm glad to see that he is still a supporter of Indian Rights and our way of life. Niawen Kowa!

Dear Friends of the Tracking Project, I have begun to gather information on traditional peacemaking practices and would appreciate any references you could offer. I would especially appreciate a copy of the article you reference by Diane LeResche, Ph.D. on the reasons to study traditional peacemaking practices. I thank you for your help. We are in deep need of a renewed imagination around peace and justice. Thank you for the work you continue to offer the world. Peace to you, Francis Weller

She:kon I just wanted to drop a line and say hello. I met john stokes when I was in seventh grade. He came with our class on our end of the year camping trip. I also got the cahnce to learn from him in my two years at the Ganondagan ELDERS gathering. There were many things he taught that I would liek to share with other youth. I am 20 now and I just recently got a job at the local community center as activity director. I'm excited at the thought of all the possibilities that come with the job. The futures I could help shape. The minds I could help expand. I'm relying heavily on my own experiences and the teachign techniques I enjoyed and htought really werked when I was going to conferences and gatherings. I really like how he taught us. thru story and song and actual hands on rather then lectures. I'd like to bring that way of teaching to my job. If you could send me sum more info to bring him back here to mohawk country I would greatly appreciate it. Niawen tanon Skennen My Adress is Ana David/ P.o Box 404 Rooseveltown, NY 13683-0404
